we celebrated christmas with my father in "the country", where cheryl's parents reside. they own, and beautifully maintain, a wonderful piece of property outside of victoria. we had a fabulous time together. we often talk on the phone, but it's SO much better in person. lexi is now 8 and getting to be such a little lady. i can't believe that she's 8! she so sweetly loves on zachary, despite the cold shoulder he throws out sometimes. she was excited to show us the ropes around her granny's house. we visited the chickens, fed the catfish (a true hit), and went for several golf cart rides. not to mention, we opened awesome presents from them. z got an art easel, a DVD/TV (big since we don't own a DVD), cars (can't have enough), and college funds!
cheryl served us kolaches, donuts, and fruit. my son is in LOVE with sugar (everything i never wanted) so he carried around a donut and a kolache the entire time...even outside. lucky for him, he actually got away with it. not for much longer...
this truly was a wonderful time with our family and can't wait until the next time!
